Full disclosure: I’ve known Nicolas for over 10 years now, and got to meet his better half Gert soon after they got together, many years ago. So when I say the following, it’s not just hollow words: I’ve seldom seem people who make such an awesome team as Nicolas & Gert, and the kind of love they radiate for each other is something I wish everyone could experience. Safe to say then, that I was pretty damn excited to shoot their wedding, even more so after seeing all the time and energy they were putting into making it pretty legendary, with a side of pinterest-perfect. :) The day started out at B&B Het Rooj, where Gert & Nicolas were getting ready for their big day, surrounded by their families and closest friends. As it started raining cats and dogs right around the time the wedding portraits were scheduled, we headed to the medieval Horst castle and its surroundings for the shoot.
The ceremony and the other festivities took place at the tent they had erected in Gert’s mom’s back yard, and no effort was spared to make it all look absolutely wonderful with beautiful flower arrangements and lots of cute little details.
As the sun was setting, I dragged Gert & Nicolas out into a nearby field (making them jump over a creek in the process) for some golden hour photos, after which they could kick off the dance party that lasted until the wee hours… (this time I know, because I was there. :) )
Anyway, without further ado, here are the photos… but before you get started, make sure to click play on the soundtrack! ;) Enjoy!
