Destination wedding photographer in Benest, France for Nathalie & Nicolas

One thing I love about destination weddings is how they bring along such a different, more relaxed and convivial atmosphere, as the bridal party and the guests all tend to be in a holiday-like mood. That also turned out to be true for Nathalie & Nicolas’ destination wedding, set in the amazing Chateau de la Borderie in the Poitou-Charentes region of France.

The wedding weekend kicked off with a welcome dinner on Friday, followed by a party that left no doubt that everyone was up for a good time. The wedding day itself started out very relaxed, playing Kubb while some of the guests were still recovering from the party the night before and chilling by the pool.

By the afternoon, everyone donned their festive outfits and got ready for the ceremony, which was set right in front of the impressive castle. As the sun shone on through the trees, friends & family members gave touching & witty testimonies about Nathalie & Nicolas, and their love.

After the ceremony, the guests made their way to the back of the castle where they were treated to champagne and hors d’oeuvres. Nathalie, Nicolas and I took off for a little bit to make the most of the golden ‘magic hour’ light, and returned right on time for the start of the dinner party.

As one could have expected after witnessing the welcoming party on Friday night, the party that followed the dinner was a wild one as well, and got everyone dancing until the wee hours, even continuing the party in the pool by the early more. I can tell you it was most refreshing though, that 4AM swim. :)
